Lean Six Sigma Training for Senior Leadership of Customers and Suppliers Conducted in Shanghai

Hosted by Industrial Technologies Asia Pacific and Shanghai Jiao Tong University together, Lean Six Sigma Training for Senior Leadership of Customers and Suppliers was conducted in Ingersoll Rand Shanghai office during May 29 and 30. 26 customers, suppliers and sales attended this training. Ee Ming Wong, Industrial Technologies Asia Pacific President, was invited to give the welcome speech. Pan Er Shun (Professor of Shanghai Jiao Tong University), William Yu (Asia Pacific Air Marketing Director and PAS China General Manager) and Zhang Dong (Asia Pacific Air Business Lean Leader) jointly gave this 2-day training.

During the two days, all the participants were not only trained with Lean and Six Sigma basic concepts and principles, but also provided with guidance to promote Lean Six Sigma in organization, select Lean Six Sigma projects, calculate Lean Six Sigma savings, etc. Moreover, through Dot Simulation, all the attendees experienced much pain resulted from poor process, and witnessed the great change brought by Lean Six Sigma improvements. It facilitated their understanding of Lean Six Sigma methodology, and gave them the opportunity to apply what they learned to resolving practical problems. At last, all the customers and suppliers were invited to visit Shanghai Ingersoll Rand Compressor Co. Ltd, which is one of the best practices within Ingersoll Rand China.

After the training, we received excellent feedback from customers and suppliers. This training triggered their strong interests in Lean Six Sigma, and they demanded more detailed training on Lean Six Sigma tools, project management, and even Green / Black Belt training. Some of them looked forward to sharing the successful experience of specific Lean Six Sigma projects in Ingersoll Rand, and welcomed our experts to give on-site visit and help identify their opportunities of improvements. As a great starting point to extend Ingersoll Rand Lean Six Sigma service to external, it’s also a very good opportunity to tighten our relationship with customers and suppliers.
